Leona

Leona LaurenLeona Louise (born 3 April 1986) is an British actor, singer an activist, actor, and singer. Born and raised within the London Borough Of Islington she was educated at the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology, Croydon. Lewis gained national attention when she won the third series of The X Factor in 2006, winning the PS1 million recording deal together with Syco Music. Her winner's single, which was a cover song by Kelly Clarkson's "A Moment like This" reached number one for several weeks on the UK Singles Chart and broke a world record by reaching the milestone of 50,000 downloads in just thirty minutes. In February 2007, Lewis was signed to a contract for five albums in the United States with Clive Davis's record label J Records. Lewis kept her momentum going with Spirit the first studio album. It reached platinum status 10x certified in the UK. This album became one of the top four albums sold in 2000, and was also one of the most popular UK albums. Based on the Official Charts Company, Spirit is the top-selling debut album from an artist of female origin in the 21st century. The album's first single "Bleeding Love" was in the top spot of the UK charts for seven consecutive weeks before becoming one of the best-selling singles in 2007. The song was also the highest-selling track in the US during the same time. Lewis won the Billboard Best New Artist Award subsequent year. Echo was her sophomore studio album. She also wrote the song "I Have You in My Eyes" to accompany Avatar. In 2011, Lewis released the single "Collide" in collaboration alongside Swedish DJ Avicii, and her debut extended play, Hurt: The EP. The third album she released, Glassheart (2012), marked a new creative direction for Lewis, drawing on dubstep and electronic music. The Glassheart Tour was in the middle of 2013 when she began recording music to create her first Christmas album. Christmas with Love came out later that year. The album's first single, "One More Sleep" reached the top spot at three on the charts in the UK. Lewis who is an British female solo artist, was the first artist to make it into the top five with eight songs. This is more than Olivia Newton John's record which included seven singles.
