Apollonia Kotero

Patricia Apollonia Kotero (born Patricia Apollonia Kotero) is an American performer, actress and model. She was a model for a while before becoming an actress. She is best known as the lead in Prince's 1984 Purple Rain film and lead singer of the girl group Apollonia 6 Apollonia was a performer/singer who was christened by Prince in 1984, became one of the female artists of the 1980s that benefited from Prince. Patricia Kotero is a Californian actress who was born in Santa Monica in 1959. Her early career included being a model on television. In 1984 she landed the female lead for Prince's Purple Rain (during which time she switched her names) and replaced Vanity as a member of the female group Vanity 6 which performed in the movie under the name Apollonia 6. Her performance had more influence on the charts by being Prince's partner in Take Me with You, which was a duet in the soundtrack. Kotero ended her relationship with Prince when they fell out about the fate of Apollonia 6. After appearing in minor films (and as of the reports, refusing to take part on her role in the Purple Rain film Under the Cherry Moon) She was part of the 1985-1986 nighttime drama Falcon Crest. Apollonia made her debut album in 1988, but her comparatively tame collection of songs that incorporated dance/R&B did not make much impression on those who bought music, and soon the album vanished out of sight. Through the years, she remained an active actor, with a few film appearances and small TV shows. In 1997, Apollonia recorded a bilingual album in Spanish and English named Stay with me. She returned to the school and received a degree in filmmaking. After that, she started her own firm and began working in children's TV. Apollonia Kotero is famous for wearing many hats.
